Notion ID Finder

Paste a Notion page or database URL to extract IDs for use in APIs and configuration files. Entered URLs are processed entirely within your browser and are never sent externally.

Open the page in Notion and paste the URL copied via "Copy link" from the "•••" menu in the top right.

How to Use

  1. Open the page or database whose ID you want to find in Notion.
  2. Select "Copy link" from the "•••" menu in the top right (if you have it open in a browser, copying the URL from the address bar also works).
  3. Paste it into the field above, and the detected IDs will appear immediately. Copy either the unhyphenated or hyphenated format depending on where you plan to use it.

Clicking "Try sample URL" inserts the example URL used in Notion's official documentation.

Where the ID Is in the URL

According to Notion's official documentation, a database URL has the following format:

https://www.notion.so/{workspace_name}/{database_id}?v={view_id}

The ID is a 32-character alphanumeric string (0–9 and a–f) located between the "/" after the workspace name and the "?". For pages, the official documentation likewise explains that the URL you get from Copy link ends with the page ID, a 32-character string. This tool searches the URL to find and extract these 32 characters.

Note that in recent versions of Notion, URLs may also start with https://app.notion.com/. This tool extracts IDs identically from both URL formats.

Location in URLWhat the ID RepresentsWhen Used in the API
After "/" and before "?"Page or database IDReading/writing pages, retrieving databases, etc.
After "v="View (display layout) IDOnly when working with views. Distinct from database IDs

Although the ID appears in the URL as 32 unhyphenated characters, official documentation presents page IDs with hyphens in an "8-4-4-4-12" format. Both represent the same ID, so this tool displays both formats side by side.

Looking Up "Data Source IDs" Separately

Starting with Notion API version 2025-09-03, databases include a unit called "data sources." A database ID and a data source ID are different, and the official documentation states: "The two types of IDs are not interchangeable."

Because data source IDs do not appear in the URL, this tool cannot extract them. In the Notion app, you can copy one via "Copy data source ID" under "Manage data sources" in the database settings menu. In the API, each ID is included in the data_sources array returned when retrieving a database.

When You Can't Read or Write Even with the ID

If the ID is correct but the API returns "not found," the page may not be shared with your API connection (integration). For details, see Notion API object_not_found (404): What to Check First.

How Entered URLs Are Handled

Pasted URLs are only inspected as strings directly inside your browser. They are never sent to this site's server or to Notion, and they disappear once you close the page.
